It's a rarity when I don't see a movie more than one time. Suprisingly, after all this time, the film still left an imprint. This film re-lived the time of the 1980 Olympics where the U.S Hockey team was to face the undefeated Soviet hockey team. The first time the team is assembled and plays a scrimage match against another team led to a disappointing loss. Herb Brooks keeps these guys on the ice until the confirm what team they played for. Each player responded correctly about what team they DID play for but it took one teammate to say the current team they are playing for. This moment set the tone for the entire squad and then they could work as a united team facing the Soviets.

Just like many Disney films that re-creates history, there is the introductory part, the build-up, a tiny bit of tragedy, and triumph beyond belief. I can just imagine what it must have been like during that actual time period and how big of a win this was for the United States on the global stage. The Cold War was still active yet showing signs of deterioration and it just felt like a dark period in time. This was a huge win for the United States and Disney did a great job to depict that victorious moment and show that emotion of Coach Brooks at the end of the film.
